Ayn Rand Quotes: What She Said Versus What She Meant

Ayn Rand was one of the leading female philosophers of the 1900s. She penned the literary classics The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged.

Throughout the years, she had a number of great quotes. Ayn liked to speak her mind and didn’t pull any punches.

One of my favorite quotes from her is:

“We can evade reality, but we cannot evade the consequences of evading reality.”

This is an amazing life lesson wrapped up into one quote. The situation you are in, is your reality. Looking the other way and turning your back on your problems is not going to solve anything. And in the long run there will be consequences for evading this problem or challenge.

She is telling you to quit procrastinating and to start facing your problems head-on.

Ayn Rand told it like it was back in the day, but if she were alive today I think she would be even more blunt and to the point. She was that kind of a lady.

This is how I think she would word some of her most famous quotes today:

Original quote:

“The question isn’t who is going to let me, it’s who’s going to stop me!”

New quote:

“Get out of my way chump, I’m about to dominate!”

Original quote:

“Worry is a waste of emotional reserve.”

New quote:

“Quit worrying about crap, you’re wasting precious energy!”
