Are you trying to avoid the problem solving mistakes most work from home entrepreneurs make?
Unless you grasp the critical information in these 3 problem solving mistakes I’m about to share with you, your troubles are only just beginning.
Mistake #1: Asking The Wrong Questions
A critical thing most people overlook is the fact that you often think a difficult challenge can only be resolved by coming up with some earth shattering, world changing solution.
Because of this, you think difficult solutions require complicated questions. If you are asking the wrong questions, you will never come up with an easy solution.
This mistake can be debilitating because you will be frantically running around like a werewolf during a full moon. Scratching, sniffing and searching for a solution you can’t see because you are asking the wrong questions.
You should start asking completely different questions. Queries that will bring about different and hopefully better solutions.
What would happen if you did the complete opposite of what you are doing now? Sometimes this will show you things that you should not be doing. This is great because often times you realize that you are actually doing the things that you should be avoiding the most.
You can also think in synonyms. What is similar to what you are doing, but is slightly different? These sort of questions can lead to the small changes that are necessary to solving your problem.
“Sometimes the questions are complicated and the answers are simple” Dr. Seuss
Mistake #2: Waiting For The Problem To Solve Itself
The #1 thing you need to understand with this mistake is problems rarely solve themselves and good things do not come to those who wait!
So, here’s what this means to you. Waiting for the problem to solve it’s self usually just creates a bigger problem that costs you more time and money to solve.
The turtle approach to problem solving, (sticking your head in a shell hoping it resolves itself) just leads to procrastination, stress and overwhelm.
Now the thing for you to do is to solve the problem as quickly as possible. Think of all of the bad things that will happen if this challenge is not resolved. This should get you motivated to solve the problem and start taking action on the solution.
Mistake #3: Fearing You Will Make The Wrong Decision
Hear me clearly on this mistake, realize that there isn’t always a perfect solution to every problem. But coming up with a solution that is close to perfect is better than no solution at all. In fact, perfection is just a myth and does not exist. Let good enough be good enough!
What’s important about this is that the fear of making the wrong decision will cause you to procrastinate and your problem will just get worse.
You need to remember that this solution does not have to be permanent. If you start to put it into action and find out it is not working, you can always make adjustments and tweak it until you get the results you are looking for.
So now the thing for you to do is to embrace the problem solving process. Approach it with a positive mindset and leave fear in the dumpster.
This represents just a summary of the mistakes work from home entrepreneurs make when it comes to problem solving. With the consequences of ignoring this advice ranging from weeks of wasted effort to throwing tons of money out the window, take the time to educate yourself on the proper methods to solve your problems.
